How long can Australians stay in Uganda with eVisa?
For tourism in Uganda, Australian applicants can obtain a visa online with less paperwork involved. However, there are certain limitations that you need to pay attention to when getting an e-visa, ensure to select the right visa type for your trip. The duration of stay for Australians in Uganda depends on the type of e-Visa you apply for:
- Tourist e-visa: Australians can stay in Uganda for up to 90 days with a tourist e-visa. This visa is suitable for leisure travel, exploration, and experiencing the country's cultural and natural attractions. This e-visa type allows a single entry.
- East Africa e-visa: With the East Africa e-visa, Australians can explore not only Uganda but also Kenya and Rwanda with multiple entries. This visa allows for a stay of up to 90 days with no limitation of moving around these 3 countries.
- Transit e-visa: For short stopovers, Australians can apply for a transit e-visa, which allows a stay of up to 7 days This type of visa is ideal for travelers in transit through Uganda to their final destination. Visitors are allowed to engage in tourism activities during this period. Transit e-visa cannot be extended.
The e-visa generally forbids visitors to engage in any form of employment activities or work. However, visitors may still visit the country for short-term business trips, or work conference purposes.
