Here are some common rules and regulations that are typically enforced during gorilla trekking experiences:

Permit Requirement: A valid gorilla trekking permit is mandatory for all participants. Permits are limited and should be booked in advance.
Group Size: Trekking groups are usually limited to a maximum of 8 people per gorilla family to minimize stress on the animals and ensure a more intimate experience.
Health Precautions: Anyone with a communicable disease is not permitted to participate in the trek, as gorillas are highly susceptible to human illnesses. A health check may be conducted before trekking, and individuals showing signs of illness may be prohibited from participating.
Distance Maintenance: Maintain a safe distance of at least 7 meters (about 23 feet) from the gorillas to avoid disturbing them and to protect both the animals and trekkers.
