Nkugute Crater Lake

This unusual tourist destination in Uganda is situated in Bunyarugu County's recently established district Rubirizi. The lake is both a gift and a punishment to the individuals who reside there. The formation of Nkugute Lake was caused by volcanic eruptions in the Bunyaruguru volcanic region. This field has been active for about 13,000 years.

There are legends surrounding the lake. According to residents, Lake Nkugute used to devour a boy and a girl every year. When the ladies came to the lake to get water or wash their clothes. They'd lose sight of their children and wind up getting "swallowed" by the water. As a result, the Lake got its name. In Runyaruguru, the word "nkugute" also means "to swallow."

Currently, St Maartener citizens can apply for one of the following tourist visas to Uganda as below.

• Transit visa - This visa allows Saint Martinoise travelers to stay in Uganda for 07 days and a single entrance. This visa may be required if Uganda is not your primary destination.
• Tourist visa - Apply for this visa if St Maartener travelers want to visit Uganda for tourism purposes. St Maartener travelers are granted 90 days (3 months) and a single entry to Uganda with this visa. No work-related activity is permitted.
• East Africa visa - In addition to tourism trips, St Maartener travelers can consider this type of visa. Holders of this visa are permitted to travel to the East Africa region including Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda for 90 days (3 months). This is a multiple-entry visa; therefore, there is no limit on how many times you can enter and exit between the 3 nations within the validity period of the visa.

Uganda Visa Requirements For St Maartener Citizens

When you apply for a visa to Uganda, there are some requirements that you are required to fulfill in order to get a visa approved. 

St Maartener citizens are required to present:

• The applicant must possess a valid and original St Maarten passport.
• Additionally, the passport must not be expired in less than 06 months, and at least 02 blank pages are available for visa stamp.
• A photograph of the applicant that was taken recently
• An email address

• Standard Service - Standard processing when applying for a visa to Uganda, allow up to 03 working days for a visa to processing. This is the least expensive option.
• Urgent Service - When requesting urgent service, it will take 48 hours or less to process your visa. St Maartener applicants are obligated to submit an extra service charge.
• Super Urgent Service - With super urgent service, the time to process will take 24 hours or less to complete your visa application. This is also the most expensive service available.
